Frequently Asked Questions
Reed Diffuser Collection
A reed diffuser is a home fragrance product that consists of scented oil in a container and reeds that absorb the oil and release the fragrance into the air. The reeds wick the oil up, allowing it to evaporate and diffuse the scent.
The lifespan of a DUX reed diffuser depends on factors such as the size of the diffuser, the type of oil used, and the environmental conditions. On average, a reed diffuser can last anywhere from 4 to 12 weeks. DUX Reed Diffusers typically last longer because they are made without alcohol.
Size of Reed Diffuser
How long does it late
Large 200ml 8 months to 1 year
Medium 130ml 6 months
Small 50ml 2 to 3 months
It's recommended to use the same fragrance oil that came with the reed diffuser to maintain the intended scent. However, should you want to refill your diffuser with a different fragrance oil we recommend following the following steps:
- Pour out any remaining fragrance oil in your jar.
- Wash your jar with warm soapy water.
- Rinse your jar thoroughly with clean water.
- Allow your jar to air dry overnight.
- Once your jar is completely dry you can pour in your new fragrance oil.

The number of reeds to use depends on the size of the room and your desired fragrance intensity. Generally, starting with 6-10 reeds is a good recommendation. You can adjust the number of reeds to control the strength of the scent.
Yes, you can control the intensity by adjusting the number of reeds in the diffuser. Adding more reeds will increase the fragrance intensity, while reducing them will decrease it.
To refresh the fragrance, flip the reeds every 1-2 weeks or when you notice the scent fading. Be sure to do this over a paper towel or a sink to avoid any oil drips on surfaces.
Yes, reed diffusers can be used in various rooms, including living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, and offices. However, avoid placing them directly on wooden surfaces or other sensitive materials, as the oil may cause damage.
While reed diffusers are generally safe, it's essential to be cautious with pets. Keep diffusers out of reach, and monitor your pets for any adverse reactions. If you notice any issues, consider using pet-friendly fragrance options.
Traveling with a reed diffuser may not be practical due to the risk of oil spills. It's recommended to keep the diffuser in a stable, upright position to prevent leakage.
Adjust the number of reeds to control the fragrance intensity. If the scent is too strong, remove some reeds; if it's too weak, add more reeds. Experiment until you find the right balance for your preference.
